Shrimp Chili

Recipe: Shrimp Chili
  • 2 T of Olive Oil
  • 2 Med Onions (diced)
  • 1 Large Jalapenos or Serrano chili
  • 6 cloves of Garlic
  • 1/2 t red pepper flakes
  • 1 T Cajun spice


  • 2 Large cans of Tomato sauce
  • 1 can of Herdaz Salsa
  • 4 tomatoes, diced up
  • 1-2 T cumin
  • 2 T of chili powder or Cajun spice
  • 1-2 T of Hot Louisiana Red sauce
  • 1 T Garlic powder
  • 1-cup raw pinto bean (soaked and then cooked)
  • 1-Cup raw black beans (soaked and cooked)
  • One Pound of medium Shrimp.
Soak beans over night in water. Cook on low till beans are done. Save bean water
Cook first 6 ingredients in fry pan with olive oil till onions are translucent. 
Add remaining ingredients and cook on low till all is well blended.
Add the saved bean liquid to chili sauce.
One Pound of medium Shrimp.   Boil Water and drop Shrimp in boiling water for 1 minute.  Take out and cool quickly.  Add Shrimp to Hot chili before serving. 
Serve with Cilantro, cheese, avacado and chips.
If you don’t have Chili powder Below is a great Chili powder mix
  • Ingredients:•
  • 1 teaspoon paprika•
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin•
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper or Cajon spice• 1 teaspoon oregano•
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
Combine all ingredients; store in an airtight container.
